Creative Project With Knaive Theatre & Royal Exchange Theatre

Date: October 1 2018 to February 15 2019

Camerata in the Community

We are looking for primary schools in Manchester to take part in this exciting new programme based on the environment and climate change.

The project will take place in autumn 2018 and spring 2019, and aims to engage pupils in Manchester primary schools in an exploration of Antarctica and its environmental plight. Schools will receive a curriculum resource containing footage from Sam Redway (Knaive Theatre)’s recent voyage to Antarctica and accompanying activities to connect pupils with social action around climate change in school.

Schools will then receive a performance by Knaive Theatre and four Manchester Camerata musicians in school. A workshop delivered straight after the performance will immerse pupils in the creation of new music and theatre based on their own ‘perfect world’ and the future of Antarctica.
