How to Get Involved
We use creativity to promote personal and social development throughout school life.
Projects last between one and five days and are designed to fit alongside your curriculum. Pupils will immerse themselves in a theme and create new lyrics, melodies and harmonies to form their own songs.
Pupils can work towards a performance in school or at a public arts venue.
Pieces are also recorded for children and young people to take home, and used as learning resources for teachers.
Evidence shows our work raises self-confidence and self-esteem, which impacts upon wider school engagement and achievement. This is not an enrichment activity but rather a core part of learning.
Music Education Hubs
Manchester Camerata collaborates with Music Education Hubs across the North of England, working with groups of schools to create pieces which are performed alongside the orchestra:
- My Hub (Manchester Music Education Hub)
- Greater Manchester Music Hub
- Lancashire Music Hub
- North West Midlands Music Hub
- Cumbria Music Hub
- Sky Music Hub
Arts Award and Artsmark
Manchester Camerata are proud to work alongside Arts Council England and North West bridge organisation Curious Minds to ensure that every child and young person has access to high quality cultural education.
We offer young people the opportunity to complete an Arts Award as part of a Camerata in the Community project.
We are also Artsmark Partners, supporting schools to achieve Artsmark status and show their commitment to the arts.
