    Carlisle and Cumbria Collaberate

    In January and February we’ve been working on a joint project with Cumbria Music Hub and Orchestra’s Live. A group of young producers from across Carlisle have come together to curate a performance which will take place in July 2017, alongside Cumbria County Youth Orchestra. The young producers and orchestra have been working together to create new music especially for the performance.   • School assistance with Camerata

    No Sleep til Spinningfields

    In January and February 2017, Camerata in the Community worked in partnership with BAM Construct UK on a project to mark the topping out ceremony of a new building in Manchester city centre called No. 1 Spinningfields. Young people from five Manchester primary schools and a Bury primary school visited the construction site to take inspiration from the scene and write a new song, accompanied by brass band, to perform at the ceremonial event on 17th February....   • Stafford and the scottish play

    On 13th February 2017, 17 Stafford primary schools came together to perform a new piece which told Shakepeare’s story of Macbeth through music. Each school had written a song about a scene, alongside Camerata musicians. The result was a collection of dramatic and diverse representations of the play, accompanied by the orchestra and a narrator.
