‘Mrs Maestro’ Performance

A new stage production, Mrs Maestro, was performed to a lucky few pupils at Webster Primary school before the concert on 4th March in Barrow. Mrs Maestro is led by Composer Andrew Smith, Director Paul Hine and the musicians of Manchester Camerata and has been developed as a tool to raise awareness of living with dementia alongside the orchestra’s pioneering dementia research.

The story follows Mrs. Maestro, the owner of a bus company, on her journey to collect the orchestra in time for the concert. As the story progresses the audience learns that her memory is not what it used to be but with the help of the audience and musicians Mrs Maestro can get everyone to the concert on time!
