    St John’s Collective First Rehersal

    The 10th January saw the first rehearsal of Manchester’s new amateur Orchestra: St John’s Collective. Here is  Ryan Breen, Manchester Camerata’s tuba player and coach of the brass section, warming up SJC with some stretches before getting stuck into the rehearsal!     Festive Happenings in Manchester

    4 months of work and collaboration between four of Mosscare St. Vincent’s sheltered housing schemes accumulated in a performance to over 1,000 people at the Albert Hall on 10th December and a performance in Moss Side to mark the 50th anniversary of the Mosscare housing schemes. The residents from each centre created songs and drama to create 4 original songs on topics of their choice. All residents also teamed together to create a finale song, entitled Home.     Tameside Ambassadors make music with Manchester Camerata

    Throughout November and December 2017, Health and Wellbeing Ambassador students from Tameside schools are attending workshops with Camerata composer Kate Pearson, musician Janet Fulton and producer Kristian Gjerstad to create music tracks on various different health and wellbeing topics. These tracks will form the basis for a PHSE resource which schools can use in their curriculum, in order to talk about issues which have been raised by the children themselves.
