• The Changing Faces of Our Neighbourhoods: A Collaboration with the University of Manchester and Open Doors

    Over the past few months, Manchester composer Richard Taylor, producer Kris Gjerstad and percussionist Janet Fulton have been working with the Open Doors group in Swinton to create a soundtrack for an animation. Open Doors is a support and research group who have released three films bout growing up in Salford in collaboration with Beena from Chronicle Films, as part of the University of Manchester's neighbourhoods study.   • North West Community Stroke Choir perform at Manchester Camerata concert

    On 9th December 2018, the North West Community Stroke Choir performed alongside Manchester Camerata musicians at our annual 'Festive Happening' concert. The choir performed a new song titled 'Rise Up' which they composed over a series of workshops with composer Andy Smith and musician Amina Cunningham. The song spoke of the challenges they have overcome and gave inspirational messages of hope for the future. Thanks again to everyone who performed and made this such a special event.   • Project launch: Music in Mind with ForViva Housing Group

    We’re very excited to be working with ForViva Housing Group to deliver Music in Mind sessions in four of their extra care housing schemes in 2018/19.
