• Old meets Opera

    In the summer of 2015, we worked with four incredible groups of older people to write a new ‘opera’ from scratch. The group was a mixture of people who had little knowledge of music or drama, to those who were very passionate. It also contained people who felt isolated in their community, so this project was a chance for them to meet new people and build relationships.   • Songlines now at the Royal Exchange

    Songlines is a music, drama and art project in collaboration with the Royal Exchange Theatre.   • What is Music in Mind

    Our Music in Mind project started in 2012 as a response to the increase in the number of people living with dementia in our community because of an expanding older population. With the current lack of existing provision, older people are facing a lonely situation. This project sees our musicians collaborate with Music Therapists to deliver group music therapy-based projects for people with dementia and their carers, in collaboration with organisations such as Age Friendly Manchester, the NHS, Alzheimer’s Society and National Autistic Society.Independent research identifies our work as ...
