‘A Spirit of Adventure’ performance with Cumbria Music Hub

What a better way to end our recent Cumbria Calling project than to perform our new composition to over 800 people!

Over two days of performances with both the Cumbria Youth Orchestra and a 13 piece ensemble from Manchester Camerata, the Cumbria Young Composers performed and presented concerts of the world premiere of ‘A Spirit of Adventure’; their new composition all about the story of a young boy in the 1700’s who sneaks on board a cargo ship and travels from Whitehaven to the Caribbean and beyond.

The concerts included an evening event at St John the Evangelist Church and two day time concerts in schools in Carlisle.

Manchester Camerata are grateful to work in partnership Cumbria Music Hub and Orchestras Live to enable this fantastic project to take place for the third year in a row.
